Miss Cullen's Maths Group

The squares have been working really hard over the last few weeks. We've been learning to recognise numerals and words from zero to ten and practising writing these. We played a bowling game to show off our recording skills and we've used whiteboards and chalk to practise with. We made this cool video to show how much we've learnt.

Discovery Friday - Camels

On Wondering Wednesday Clark wondered "why do camels live in hot deserts?" Today we talked about camels for Discovery Friday. We found out about all sorts of special features that camels have to help them live in the desert. Jessie told us about the time she rode on a camel. We drew pictures of camels and talked about hot and cold colours as well.

Soccer skills with Miss Cullen

We had so much fun on Thursday being out in the sunshine with Miss Cullen. We loved running around and kicking the soccer ball with our friends.

Mrs Quinn loved being outside with us too! We look forward to another lesson this week. 

Cross Country

All lined up, ready to start.

On Thursday we had our school cross-country. We went to Preston Downs and we had to run around Kirrin Island. We all ran very fast (even Mrs Sands!) and we ran all the way without stopping.

Miss Allchurch, Miss Cullen and Mrs Sands were super proud of our perseverance.

Welcome to our blog...

Hooray! The Kauri Community have a brand new blog. Today we have been talking about different ways to communicate. We learnt some sign language, and wrote our names in Braille. We wrote letters to our friends and family and we looked at the fax machine in the office. We made this blog to share our artwork and the things we do at school. We are going to use our blog to communicate with our friends and family who live far away. We would love for you to comment if you have visited our blog! (And watch this space, we have lots to share!)
